Summary
EXPLORE: Journey through the heart and history of Cambodia, starting in Phnom Penh, the cultural and political center of the country. You will travel through the rural countryside, eventually reaching the majestic ruins of Angkor Wat.
LEARN: Discover the history of Cambodia as well as the current successes and challenges of rebuilding the country's education system. Students will engage in optional book studies and film screenings before the trip as well as gatherings to debrief and apply their learning after the trip.
CONNECT: Travel with other high school students who share a commitment to human rights. Meet and work with students from Cambodia.
SERVE: Participate in a unique service project that benefits Cambodian schools and children through the distribution of bicyles and backpacks.
DATES: We will depart Boise on Friday, March 14 and return on Saturday, March 22.
SUPERVISION: There will be one chaperone for every 6 students. There is room for 18 students. Students will always be with a chaperone or their partner.
COST: The cost is $3,700. This includes roundtrip international airfare to Cambodia, double occupancy hotel room, private local guide for our group who will be with us the entire trip, ground transportation, boat excursion, activities, entrance fees and all tips, bottled water, and 13 meals. A nonrefundable $500 deposit is required to hold your spot.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
All travelers need a passport with at least three blank pages that is valid past October 2025.
Due to the activities and limited accessibility options in Cambodia, all travelers must be able to walk three miles (over the course of a day) and navigate uneven surfaces.
The next payment of $1600 is due by October 1. The remaining balance of $1600 is due by February 1.
